About the beer
What beer to drink today? Sure, you could probably go with any old beer that’s on tap or in can/bottle, but what if instead  you could enjoy one influenced by a whiskey?
I am talking about Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager. The new Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager, according to those behind it, is a limited edition “American-style” lager that’s been “aged on six-year Jim Beam bourbon barrel staves for a bolder taste”.

I placed my Chalice glass under a light and I was seriously stunned. I was able to imagine a Sun setting in my glass with beautiful lava at the bottom.
It certainly packs a little more punch than traditional the Bud. The beer delicately whispers a delicious Jim Beam bourbon flavor to the palate without having to shout and a lot of vanilla and oak notes without overtaking the senses.

In a Lager family, which is a usually a plain fizzy drink, this Buds Copper Lager definitely adds a variety and one should never compare this with any other type of “Ale”. It is not very strong or complex in the flavor department, but at least more exciting than your average adjunct lager and I would give 1 extra point for the innovation.

History
Budweiser Copper Lager Aged on Jim Beam Bourbon Barrel Staves is a first of its kind collaboration brew between two of America’s most iconic brands: Budweiser and Jim Beam. Part of the Budweiser Reserve Collection, Copper Lager is a limited release beer brewed to celebrate the anniversary of the Repeal of Prohibition on December 5, 1933
The beer has a completely different formula than traditional Budweiser and was developed at Budweiser’s St. Louis test brewery under the watchful eye of Brewmaster Pete Kraemer. It’s a classic American amber lager, brewed with two-row barley and aged on charred American oak barrel staves that were previously used by Jim Beam.
