About the Beer :
Desperados is the world’s first Tequila Based Beer. Appearance-wise it wasn’t overly impressive to me. It was clear golden yellow with decent head, but no staying power. Quite nice scent of moderate strength with notes of freshness and very fizzy like fine champagne. The perfectly mixed odor of tequila with barley and malt was so aromatic to the nose.
The mouthfeel accentuated the smell – thick, crisp, and bold. The taste was what impressed me i.e. The Lager flavor mixed so well with tequila and the aftertaste was persistent but not too strong. Drink it with a lime and it is definitely better than Corona Beer.
I don’t know why all the other reviews were so poor, but I genuinely think this is a good and underappreciated beer.  If you’re truly a beer-lover then you really ought to give this one a try, if only to feel the unique flavour of tequila.

History of the Brewery:

The Fischer brewery was founded in 1821 at Strasbourg in the Alsace region in France and moved to Schiltigheim in 1854, because of the water quality there.
Fischer produces Desperados Beer which is a pale lager flavored with tequila. It is now brewed by Karlovačko Brewery and  was first brewed in 1995 in Basque Country.
The listed ingredients of Desperados are water, malted barley, glucose syrup, corn, sugar, aromatic compounds (75% Tequila), citric acid and hop extract.
