About the Beer
It pours out in a nice cloudy orange color with very nice head and having good retention with some nice lacing.

The aroma has all the necessary ingredients for a Belgian witbier i.e. yeast, orange peal, coriander and wheat malt.

The taste was quite good which was nice and crisp and very refreshing. The balance was okay between the wheat, orange, coriander flavors and a touch of earthy spice. The flavor that came out most was of coriander, but it was not overwhelming. The orange and wheat were still there, but just not as strong enough.

The body of this witbier was medium, probably slightly thicker and it was pretty creamy as well. Carbonation was at a good level and smoothness on this one but nothing short of great.

Overall  this is a fairly decent beer, especially for an American Belgian. I am not saying that it is the best witbeir as Hoegaarden still stands the best, but this is a good beer. It was a very refreshing ale that I will definitely buy again. This is ideal for a hot summer day or on the beach.

My Own Rating:
AROMA :  7/10
APPEARANCE : 6/10
TASTE : 7/10

PALATE :6/10

OVERALL : 6.5/10

Controversies
– In 2012 Blue Moon had come under fire from the Brewers Association for not stating on the bottle that the beer is made by MillerCoors. The Brewers Association says that this omission allows the Blue Moon Brewing Company to masquerade as an independent craft brewer

– In 1999, the Confédération des Brasseries de Belgique (The Confederation of Belgian Breweries) sued the then-named Coors Brewing Company over its use of the term “Belgian White”. The CBB alleged Coors’ advertising was misleading and could confuse American consumers into believing Blue Moon was made in Belgium. Coors at first responded by adding “Made in USA” and “Belgian-style” in small print on the bottle labels, but refused to change its advertising or packaging.

Coors eventually settled out of court with the CBB, agreeing to change the labeling to “Belgian-style Wheat Ale”. Additionally the CBB distributes the beer to conglomerates in European countries.
