Chang Beer, which started production in March 1995 at their brewery in Bang Ban District of Ayutthaya Province, is the top-selling brand in Thailand and is now globally distributed to over 20 countries. It managed to win 60 percent market share in Thailand after a hard market fight with the previously leading brand, Singha Beer.
Chang – is the Thai word for elephant, a pachyderm with cultural and historical significance in Thailand. The logo features two elephants facing each other.
Chang Classic is brewed at 5.5 percent abv for local and export markets,
About the beer:
Looks great with pristine clarity, very light and crisp with almost no head. There is very little flavor and it’s like drinking flavored water. Aroma of malt and grain are missing. Definitely tastes and smells sweet with little hop presence. The after taste is watery.
I was hoping for some good hop flavor but got nothing. A decent beer but it doesn’t excite me in any way and also not good enough to warrant another purchase.
The two best things about this are
(a) it is a tick and
(b) I never have to have it again
My Own Rating:
Aroma : 5/10
Appearance  : 5/10
Taste : 5/10
Palate : 5/10
Overall : 5/10
PS: Special thanks to Nirmal Khona for getting this beer for me from Thailand.
