History
Super Bock is a Portuguese beer brand from the Unicer brewery which produces a range of beers under the same name. Established in 1927, Super Bock maintains a leading position in the market and is amongst the favourite beer brands of the Portuguese. It is also the best-selling Portuguese beer in the world.
Its first advert was launched under the slogan “The beer that goes beyond your expectations”
In 2003 they launched Super Bock Stout – The other side of Super Bock.
About the Beer
Lovely deep dark brown colour with full of attitude and lightness. Its mysterious colour conceals an audacious taste and the desires of new sensations. Head is thick and quite fine when poured into a glass, which maintains the character of an authentic black beer. Foam isn’t too lacey, but the head lingers. Softly caramelized, it has a slight coffee and chocolate aroma too. Mouthfeel is smooth, with moderate carbonation and a slight lingering malty after taste at the end. It is produced from special malts (pale malt, caramel malt and chocolate malt) which attains a unique balance between the moderate sourness and the typical sweetness of an English Stout. Overall, Super Bock Stout is quite good. I’m expecting a much more distinct, exotic, love-it-or-hate-it flavor from stouts.
