About the Beer
Pours a light gold, Extremely clear, almost lager- like, with a head with some staying power and lacing isnt the best. The 55 IBU’s come through pretty strong. As if all the hops are used to bitter the beer with some leftover for aroma. Taste was very earthy in terms of both its malts and hops. The finish was semi-dry and more earthy flavor than I prefer.
I crave hops and when I see “India Pale Ale/IPA” on the label, this beer is a bit hoppier than your typical British style IPA, and it’s way to malty and bland for an American style.
The best thing I would say about this beer is that it’s generally inoffensive, and so if I’m in the mood for a beer while waiting for a friend (the only time I’m left with GI IPA as the best possible alternative), I know that GI IPA will be a tolerable choice. That’s not very high praise, Not sure what I was expecting with this one. Overall, I admire the clarity of the beer and the aroma the most. The taste was disappointing and the dryness becomes a minus for me.
